  Quite a few people filed into the Mae Wilson Theatre on Saturday night for “An Evening With Stanton T. Friedman”, a nuclear physyicist delivering his lecture “Flying Saucers ARE Real”.
    “There’s no way to tell you everything you ever wanted to know about flying saucers in one lecture or ten lectures,” Friedman began.
    Friedman is a self-described UFologist. For all the time he has spent researching flying saucers, he has spent almost as much in battle with the “noisy negativists” who dismiss everything out of hand.
    He spent the bulk of his presentation on the famous Roswell crash.
    A rancher found wreckage of an unidentifiable craft in his field. The military swiftly sent in men to retrieve the wreckage. Maj. Jesse Marcel investigated the site, and described metals that were unheard of: small beams that were incredibly light but couldn’t be broken by hand, and metal that could be bent and then reform into its original shape. Marcel and the others who recovered the wreckage were silenced by their general.
    The wreckage was explained as a weather balloon, which contains nothing similar to the wreckage nor any flight patterns similar to what was witnessed before the crash.
    There were two reports of bodies found: small, grey, with spindly limbs. These were explained as crash-test dummies (which are made to look human).
    He discussed another incident where a small craft was seen landing. The soil that it imprinted was studied, and discovered to be sterile and non-absorbant.
    Many studies have been done into flying saucers. The largest ever was Project Blue Book. It concluded that there were only 3 per cent of UFO sightings that were not identified, and only because of insufficient data. However, within the actual report, the figures put unknown sightings at 21.3 per cent, and list insufficient data in another category.
    Friedman sought after the hundreds of UFO documents in the possession of the CIA and NSA, and had to take them to court before they would admit they had them. He eventually go the documents, though … 90 per cent whited out.
    He also talked about the elusive Operation Majestic 12, a top secret group reporting to President Truman, which remains as mysterious today as in 1947.
    There are many remaining mysteries, but Stanton Friedman shows no signs of slowing down.

Nuclear physicist and renowned UFO researcher Stanton Friedman brought his lecture Flying Saucers ARE Real to Moose Jaw and Regina on the weekend.

Friedman is not interested in all UFO sightings — simple reports of lights in the sky don’t really rate — only the minority that quite clearly defy any other explanation.

Friedman has passed his 72 years on Earth without ever having seen a UFO. But he has seen enough documents and photographs and talked to enough people willing to share their close encounters that he believes even without first-hand experience. He insists he’s interested in “real science,” not science fiction.

In an interview, Friedman recalled how someone recently scoffed at him about the implausibility of alien visits.

“All new discoveries are unlikely, or they would have been discovered before,” said the physicist, who points to nuclear fission and fusion as examples of the once inconceivable becoming reality.

“Absence of evidence is not evidence for absence,” added Friedman, who has little patience with “nasty, noisy negativists” who haven’t read the material he has.

Friedman speaks not with the blind faith of a zealot, but the careful conviction of a scientist who bases his opinion on 49 years of research. He relies, primarily, on what he calls “five large-scale scientific studies.” While he now resides in New Brunswick, the New Jersey-born Friedman’s interest was sparked in 1958.

He was working on nuclear airplanes for General Electric when he needed one more book to fill out a mail order. That’s how he ended up reading a report on unidentified flying objects by U.S. air force Capt. Edward J. Ruppelt.

“It intrigued me. It didn’t convince me.” Friedman dug a little deeper, including taking a look at Project Blue Book, a 1955 study by the U.S. air force detailing UFO sightings. “It shook me up,” he said.

His quest to learn more took him to Roswell, N. M., where he became the first civilian to document the controversial site where some believe an alien spacecraft crashed in July 1947.

While Friedman is eager to speak about his convictions and theories — having done hundreds of lectures across Canada and the U.S. and 16 other countries since first going public in 1967 — he still finds most people are not. Often he’ll ask his audiences who has seen a flying saucer, and about 10 per cent of the hands in the room will go up. When he asks how many reported their sighting, 90 per cent of the hands go down. “They’d think I was some kind of a nut,” is the usual explanation given, Friedman said.

Clearly, some people in this province have overcome their reluctance. The Winnipeg-based Ufology Research Institute recently reported its third-largest number of UFO sightings last year at 736. Saskatchewan placed third among the provinces, with a record 98 sightings.

Was it a UFO in Illinois?

Bloomington, Illinois - An object that smashed through a window on its way to landing in a Bloomington home could be a meteorite, experts say.

The grayish, metallic object, which is about the size of a deck of cards, crashed into a computer table in the home of a surprised Dee Riddle. She said she came to investigate after she heard something smash through a bedroom window on Monday morning.

Intrigued scientists from nearby Illinois State University said it was likely a meteorite.

“In my 36 years of investigating meteorite calls, this looks like the real thing,” said Robert Nelson, a geology professor at ISU. The last confirmed meteorite to strike Bloomington was in the 1930s, he said.

Nelson and other experts ruled out the possibility that it had been thrown by someone near the house, and they said it was not likely to have been space junk from a satellite or spacecraft.

The US Geological Survey’s meteorite centre in Flagstaff, Arizona, will help in trying to identify the object, Nelson said.

“We were just lucky no one was sitting at the computer when it happened,” she said.

Where have all the UFO’s gone?

Human beings from all over the world bore witness to millions of unidentified flying objects sightings in the past fifty years but only a few hundred thousands of these sightings have been properly documented.  The number of UFO sightings has so far been overwhelming considering that not all who witness suspected unidentified flying objects report their sightings.   

Despite the number of UFO sightings, only a few people or less than ten cent of the population of the human race has actually seen unidentified flying objects.   This brings to question the validity of the various UFO sightings.  Is it proper to conclude that since only a few people have seen UFOs, then they are just a product of their imaginations?

Unidentified flying objects have often been described as oval, triangular or plate-like flying objects.  The common description among the UFOs is that they are definitely huge and they easily vanish in the blink of an eye, making it difficult for majority of those who have seen UFOs to actually describe them perfectly.

UFOs have always been known as some sort of transportation for extra terrestrials.  However, no one has actually examined the flying objects inside a laboratory so there is no way to factually describe what they really are or how they really look like.

Most UFOs have been seen flying the sky but there are also sightings of unidentified flying objects on land masses.  Some creatures that are sea-based have also been related with UFO sightings although no hard evidence on this matter has as yet been gathered.

UFO sightings are not limited to a certain sector of society because those who have seen them belong to almost all levels of society, some educated, some uneducated, some are poor while some belong to the moneyed strata of society.  City dwellers have lesser chances of seeing UFOs because most of the sightings were in areas with vast open fields common in the countryside.

Those who have witnessed unidentified flying objects usually see them from distance without much opportunity to closely inspect their shape or size.  However, there are some reported close encounters with UFOs including abductions.

Most UFOs have been described as very large and fast and they are lit by bright colors usually red.

Unidentified flying objects have been sighted even before the 19th century but ufologists believe that the modern UFO sightings began in the 1940s with the sighting of semi-circular objects in Washington.   The UFOs were sighted by a private pilot who was then flying his own plane.  When interviewed on his sightings, he said the objects looked as when a person would place a saucer on top of water and move the saucer in a circular manner.  From this description came the words flying saucer, a description most often used in modern UFO sightings.   
 
There have been UFO sightings up to this time such as the sightings by students while on board a bus in Texas sometime in August 2006.  There were also UFO sightings in Netherlands and in some parts of the world during the year 2006. 

The point here is that UFOs have been sighted as far back as 50 years ago and people are still seeing them up to now.  With the number of UFO sightings, one would ask, where have all the UFO s gone?

Are UFO sightings for real?

They are plate-like or saucer-like objects that are often seen flying high in the sky.  Most often, their presence could not be explained by science and so they are simply known to humans as unidentified flying objects.

UFOs are named as such because they have remained unidentified and unexplained even after an investigation ahs been conducted.  However, it is wrong to conclude that since they have remained unidentified, they are already related to extra terrestrials.

UFOs have been sighted even during the ancient period but these have been relegated to the category of mere superstitions.  However, as man becomes more scientifically inclined, he begins to find an explanation for the existence of these unidentified flying objects.

Any person who has seen a UFO will have to think twice before reporting it to the authorities or even to his friends.   The only occasion when a person who has seen a UFO will report it is if he is bold enough to risk being called crazy or the shock of seeing the object has made him so vocal.

There are a lot of recorded UFO sightings all over the world but most of these sightings happen late at night and in areas with wide open spaces like the country side.  Evidence of UFO sightings have even been documented through photos and video cameras.  However, such shots can be faked so the evidence still has to undergo the close scrutiny of the experts before they are declared as genuine photos or footage.

Among the common characteristics of UFOs as described by those who have seen them is that they are very fast and the flight sound unlike that of an ordinary human aircraft.  While human aircrafts need sometime or effort to maneuver, the UFOs can immediately turn on any side and can go up or down.

The UFOs seem to have very powerful electronics that every time there is a UFO sighting, it will usually interfere with the workings of electronic gadgets like radios, cars and the likes.  Some even reported the fluctuation of electricity in time with a UFO sighting in an area.

The first UFO sighting that has been documented is that in New Hampshire during the 1800s.  The year 1870 has been witness to the first modern UFO sightings including that of the 1878 sighting reported by John Martin, a farmer who said he saw a balloon-shaped object circling the sky.

Even an astronomer reported a UFO sighting in 1882 and he described it as something shaped like a disc.  Even the much respected commander-in-chief Frank Schofield claimed in 1904 to have sighted objects shaped like an egg just below the clouds.

Even religious sightings much like the one in Fatima which was considered a miracle by some people has not been spared from the UFO sighting theory.  Experts believed that what the people saw in Fatima in 1917 was not really an apparition of a religious figure but really a UFO sighting.

UFO sightings have not been limited to a particular country or continent.  Sightings have been reported in the United States, in Europe in Asia and in some parts of the globe.

The UFOs and everything related to these spherical crafts have invaded the lives of people.  UFOs are the subject of movies, books, seminars, and they are even being studied in some universities.  What is definite though is that some people are making a lot of money just by either denying or affirming the existence of UFOs.

UFOs in the waters

The more popular sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects have occurred in large open spaces like a farm or any deserted area.  Unknown to many people, UFOs have also been sighted in the waters. 

There is a seeming attraction between UFOs and bodies of water perhaps due to electromagnetic forces.  However, the sightings involving UFOs and water have not been really delved into in public until Ivan Sanderson’s publication about UFOs in the waters sometime in 1970.

Unconfirmed accounts narrate how UFOs can easily go in and out of the waters with nary a trace.  The lack of evidence about the encounters of UFOs with bodies of water may be the reason why not much has been written about this very important issue.

Some people may consider the topic of UFOs a little too loony for comfort but scientists can benefit from studying the qualities that make UFOs sturdy.  Mankind can benefit from learning what UFOs are made of if we are to continue with our outer space explorations.

Knowing what UFOs are made of can give humans an idea of how to build a space craft that can penetrate planets that have not been explored before because of heat and other factors.

The landing of UFOs in bodies of water shows a diverse effect on the fishes living in or near the bodies of water.  Some fish get attracted to the UFOs while others tend to veer away from the strange thing which they consider an attacker.  In some cases, fish kills have been reported after UFO sightings.

Experts give a different term for UFOs sighted in waters; they are referred to as Unidentified Submergible Objects.  Fishermen in various areas particularly in Lake Cote have reported USO sightings.  The fishermen reported that the entry and exit of the USOs in the waters has even caused them to lose their balance and some even fall off their boats.

USO sightings have been blamed for the scarcity of fish resources in these waters.  These sightings can only mean one thing; the UFOs are very powerful that they are able to penetrate any surface be it in air or water.

Fishermen have also reported seeing USOs in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  What makes this sighting exciting is that it was confirmed by the coastguards and was corroborated by at least nine people who witnessed the USO.

This Mississippi sighting was apparently very close that the fishermen even tried to hit the submarine-like craft with their paddles but they failed.  The same thing was attempted by the coast guards who responded to the fishermen’s alarm and claimed that the submarine like object appeared to be metallic based on its texture.

But an area frequently visited by the so-called USO is the Island of Enchantment located in Puerto Rico, near the area popularly known as the Bermuda Triangle.  Residents including the Navy Seals stationed in the area have reported a lot of USO sightings near the waters. 

There were also numerous incidents of pilots reporting sightings of strange objects in the sky in Puerto and the radio messages of these pilot shave been recorded.  However, these pilots have never been heard of again after reporting the incident and no one can explain their disappearance.

There are a lot more reported and unreported USO sightings all over the world and this should give mankind an idea of the kind of aircrafts entering and leaving the earth anytime without our knowledge.  Apparently, there are a lot of things that our scientists still has to account for and to study.

Is E.T. for real?

Fans of the movie ET would probably go giddy over the cute extra terrestrial who can twirl humans around his neck with his oh-so adorable and vulnerable characteristics. However, we are talking reel here and every ET fan would perhaps like to know whether he really does exist.

Believers will tell you that ET or extra terrestrials do exist if the millions of UFO sightings are to be believed.  Some people who have seen unidentified flying objects have also seen or even made contact with extra terrestrials who man the outer space crafts.

ET became the manifestation of every extra terrestrial, thanks to the movie of the same title.  It may be a science fiction movie showing the cute and harmless side of extra terrestrials but it should not be taken as the gospel truth of the nature and disposition of extra terrestrials.
 
Not all people would want to believe that other beings, perhaps more intelligent than mankind, exist in another universe.  Documents and corroborative evidence would however prove that extra terrestrials or aliens do exist.

Most of the narratives taken from people who have seen extra terrestrials make mention of their vehicle or means of transportation which is more popularly known as UFOs.  UFOs were described to be cone or saucer-shaped and surrounded by bright and glaring lights, usually red.

Researchers believe that extra terrestrials come in different categories but can be divided into the good aliens and the bad aliens.  Except for the movie ET, most movies depict extra terrestrials as bad aliens who abduct, abuse, and make guinea pigs out of humans.

The bad guys or evil aliens have been dissected in almost all movies, conferences and forums.  Experts talk about them because their evil qualities are of much interest to humans who want to be scared.  But do not be fooled by this because good aliens do exist and they roam the earth looking like humans in order to check the abuses of he bad aliens.

Among the most common stories about aliens is that they come to earth through their UFOS, kidnap humans and experiment on them for a possible hybridization of their dying race.  And once they succeed in doing this, it will be the end of the human race.

The good aliens who come in peace have established a home base inside mountains while the bad aliens are the ones often seen going to and from bodies of water.  The base of the peace-loving aliens could not be penetrated by humans.

The recorded clash in Mexico in sometime in 1947 is said to be a clash between the bad aliens and the peace-loving aliens.  The said area was chosen by the good aliens to minimize the impact and damage to humans.  The same confrontation was recorded in Mexico in the 1980s.

There are a lot of UFO sightings all over the world even before the 1940s up to the present time and witnesses to these sightings confirm that these space crafts are indeed piloted by aliens.  While the existence of ET’s have indeed been confirmed by the sightings of UFOs, no one can really verify that claims of ET sightings are really true and not part of a widespread strategy to promote fraud.

Old religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, and other eastern religious beliefs all include the concept of spiritual growth and also reincarnation. Probably the most widely recognized of all such saints is Sri Sathya Sai Baba who was named “Man of Miracle” and the title is well deserved if there is any merit to the tales associated with him.

Individuals like these were spiritual in nature and had dedicated several years to their spiritual growth. If one follows their example that it would seem that death itself is something that may be conquered through proper spiritual development. While these beliefs are quite ancient, it is clear that the early masters were successful in establishing a link between our spirit or karma and the cycle of reincarnation. It is assumed that once an individual has achieved a certain level of spiritual growth then their abilities are naturally enhanced and they appear to be superhuman to those who have yet to attain those levels.

Though the evidence for this is purely anecdotal, it has been reported that psychic abilities can be enhanced through the use of hypnosis. Obviously this requires that you accept the fact of psychic abilities before trying to establish if hypnosis does anything to enhance it. It is not possible to hypnotize someone against their will. Positive ESP subjects are typically known to be extroverts that are outgoing, adventurous, enthusiastic, and always at ease. Negative ESP subjects are known for being more withdraw, always a bit tense, readily frustrated, and quite suspicious without reason. It was finally concluded that negative ESP was basically an outcome of these individual traits rather than the reverse.

In the final result, hypnosis has been shown to increase the ESP of a given subject by relaxing the mind and permitting more subconscious control and refining the mental processes involved in perception.
